Beloved You Are Crafted

Our Humble Carpenter

Mark 6:3 “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary…” Jesus is the Savior. Carpenters work with many different types of tools. Carpenters construct and repair. You could say that we [people] are the many different types of tools that God works with, each one of us specially crafted in a unique way. Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” God has worked with us fearfully he has made us capable of eliciting wonder… for Him. He constructs [he has created us] and repairs [Psalm 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”] our hearts so that we might [Proverbs 3:5-6] trust in Him with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding because His understanding is greater that ours will every be. For me that is oh so comforting because we need not rely on our flesh or those around us because The Lord God Almighty has it ALL under His control, we just need to rely and trust in Him. The hands of a carpenter are rough, they are worn by the handiwork used to make intricate and beautiful creations. Jesus hands may have been like the “carpenters hands” but His touch was soft, caring, and gentle. His love is strong but shown through delicacy, and it is all available at our hands, what power we have at our fingertips but the fingers of our humble carpenter have the power to give sight to the blind, heal the sick, and make the lame walk… and raise the dead back to life. Jesus our almighty savior, humble carpenter knows us as His Beloved.

1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”
